We started the day with an early morning drive through “The Valley of The Gods.” It was about a 20k drive on a rough gravel road through the most spectacular rock formations imaginable. Earlier in the day, I sent a picture of these formations to my grandson, Asher. His response: "They don’t look real."
We ended the day with a drive through Zion National Park. Again canyons and vistas of exquisite beauty. In addition, in or around the Park we saw a herd of buffaloes, a deer and a Bighorn sheep.
Wherever you live, you’ve not really seen America unless you spend some significant time in the American Southwest, especially Utah, Arizona and New Mexico. Not big population centers, but home to natural wonders.
In between all this natural beauty we did some speed contests in a strange format that I was unfamiliar with….but we did OK, so it turned out to be a very pleasant day.
